Peter Marber will teach Advanced Hedge Fund Strategies at the Carey Business School this summer. “It’s a great honor to join Hopkins’ faculty this summer. Peter Marber gave the keynote address “Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA): Rethinking Asset Allocation in the VUCA World” at HSBC’s annual conference in Las Vegas. Marber highlighted the rise of China, new investors - including ETFs, hedge funds, computer and algorithmic traders - as well as new Wall Street re-regulation that has changed the financial marketplace. “New faster investors coupled with reduced market making has created less liquid, more volatile markets than what we saw a decade ago,” Marber said. “Quantitative easing, too, has exacerbated the the hunt for yield and has created less stable market conditions.” Marber teaches at Harvard and heads emerging market investments for Loomis, Sayles & Company.
